Half-height blade server

The Dell PowerEdge M640 is a half-height blade server built for dense compute environments such as virtualisation, private cloud and high-performance computing. It ships with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency and 24 cores. The system includes 16 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across two modules. It arrives without an operating system installed.

Dual 10 Gb networking and H330 storage controller

A Broadcom 57810S-K dual-port 10 Gb blade network daughter card provides high-speed connectivity through the chassis fabric. The Dell PERC H330 mini mono controller supports SATA and SAS drives with RAID 0, 1, 5, 10 and 50. Two 960 GB SATA 6 Gb/s 2.5-inch enterprise SSDs are installed in the front-accessible drive bays. Video output is handled by a Matrox G200 chip with 8 MB of memory.

iDRAC9 Enterprise remote management

Integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise enables comprehensive out-of-band management, including remote console, power control and hardware monitoring without requiring an operating system. The blade fits PowerEdge MX and M1000e chassis, allowing consolidation within existing rack infrastructure. Front bezel and ready rails are not included. Memory capacity can be expanded to 1.5 TB using the 16 available DDR4 slots.
