The MSI PRO B850-S WIFI6E is an ATX motherboard built on the AMD B850 chipset for Socket AM5 processors. It supports Ryzen 7000 8000 and 9000 series CPUs with a 12 Duet Rail power system using P-PAK components and dual 8-pin CPU power connectors. Four DDR5 slots accept up to 256 GB running at 8200 MT/s OC with AMD EXPO profiles.

Tool-free latches secure M.2 drives and the primary PCIe 4.0 x16 graphics card without screws. The primary M.2 slot runs at PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU and accepts 22110 and 2280 lengths; a second CPU-linked slot runs at PCIe 4.0 x4 for 2280 and 2260 drives. A chipset-linked PCIe 4.0 x4 slot and a PCIe 3.0 x1 slot provide additional expansion.
