The copper-and-aluminium construction absorbs and spreads heat from the controller and flash. Buyers needing a 2230 or 22110 form factor cannot use this model.

Copper base with grooved aluminium fins

The copper base draws heat directly from the SSD and transfers it to the aluminium fin stack for air cooling. Thermal tape, mounting screws and a screwdriver are included so no extra parts are required. Installation uses the existing M.2 standoff and screw on the motherboard. Builds without an M.2 slot or with a fixed motherboard heatsink that cannot be removed are not compatible.

Sustained thermal performance

Under continuous heavy I/O the copper spreads heat quickly across the aluminium surface area, reducing the chance of thermal throttling.
