G1/4" Thread Compatibility and Hard-Tube Constraints

The G1/4" thread is the de facto standard for water-cooling components, so these fittings screw into most blocks, radiators, reservoirs and pumps. They only accept rigid tubing with a 12mm outer diameter; softer or differently sized tube will not seal. The multi-link layout is intended for straight extension segments, not for sharp bends or angled routing.

Simple Compression Installation with Common Pitfalls

Installation requires chamfering and deburring each tube end, then sliding the compression nut and collet onto the tube before tightening the body by hand plus a light wrench turn. The most frequent issue is an uneven cut that lets the O-ring bypass, causing a slow leak. Over-tightening can crush the collet or strip the brass threads, while forgetting to fully seat the tube leaves a gap that pressurised coolant will exploit.
