It records at up to 4K resolution using H.265 or H.264 compression at 20 frames per second. The NVR offers HDMI and VGA outputs for local monitoring and connects to the network via a single RJ45 port. It is designed for homeowners or small businesses that want a complete, wired PoE security kit managed exclusively through the Defender Empower app.

Sustained Recording and AI-Driven Tracking

Continuous, motion-triggered or scheduled recording modes keep the system writing to the 1TB drive without gaps, while H.265 compression reduces the bit-rate during long sessions. Each PTZ camera covers a full 360° field of view and uses on-board AI to follow detected motion automatically, keeping subjects centred in the frame. The 8-channel backplane accepts four additional IP cameras if the site needs more coverage later, and ONVIF support allows third-party cameras to join the same recorder.

PoE Power Delivery and Quiet Operation

The NVR supplies DC 48 V at 2 A over Ethernet cables, so each camera receives power and data through a single run — no separate adapters or nearby sockets are required. With no wireless radios in the recorder, the unit runs silently in a closet or on a shelf. Video can be backed up to a USB storage device when needed, and the Empower app provides remote live view and instant alerts from anywhere with an internet connection.
