Half-width blade server for dense compute

The Dell PowerEdge MX760C is a half-width blade server built for environments that need high core counts in a compact rack footprint. Dual Intel Gold 6434 processors provide 16 cores running at 3.7 GHz with 22.5 MB cache each, suited to virtualization hosts and database workloads. One hundred twenty-eight gigabytes of DDR4 memory across eight 16 GB modules supports large working sets. Six 2.4 TB 10K SAS drives managed by an H755 MX controller deliver fast local storage for mixed read and write patterns.

Thermals noise and power draw

Blade form factor relies on shared chassis cooling, so acoustics and airflow are determined by the enclosure rather than the sled itself. Dual 8-core CPUs at 3.7 GHz draw significant power under load; the MX chassis fans ramp to meet thermal targets, which can be audible in office-adjacent racks. Power consumption scales with CPU utilisation and drive activity, so dense deployments should plan for adequate PDU capacity and chassis-level cooling headroom. No optical drive reduces internal heat slightly.

Modular I/O and remote management

The MX760C includes a Marvell FastLinQ 41262 mezzanine card with dual 25 Gb connections for converged network and storage traffic. Fabric A and B bays accept redundant general-purpose or pass-through switches, while Fabric C bays accept storage-specific switches; none are included with this unit. iDRAC9 Express provides out-of-band remote console, virtual media and hardware monitoring without an enterprise licence. The H755 MX RAID controller supports hardware RAID levels across the six drive bays.
