The Dell PowerEdge R630 is a 1U rack server fitted with a single Intel Xeon E5-2637 V3 quad-core processor running at 3.5GHz. It ships with 128GB of DDR4 memory across 24 DIMM slots and two 1TB 7.2K SATA drives managed by a PERC H330 RAID controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 10, 50 and 60. Dual 750W redundant power supplies and a quad-port 1GbE daughter card complete the baseline configuration for virtualisation hosts or database nodes.

Sustained-load behaviour

With the installed processor the system delivers four physical cores and eight threads continuously at 3.5GHz, while the H330 controller maintains array integrity during prolonged write workloads. The 24 DIMM slots are fully populated at 128GB, so memory bandwidth scales with the CPU capability up to 2400MT/s DDR4. Redundant hot-swap power supplies and up to eight 2.5-inch hot-plug bays keep storage and power available during drive or module replacement without downtime.

Pre-order checklist

Verify that the single-processor configuration meets your licensing and threading requirements before adding a second CPU.
