Purpose-built enterprise compute

The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server equipped with dual Intel Xeon Gold 5415+ processors running at 2.9GHz with a 4.1GHz turbo frequency. Each CPU provides eight cores for a total of sixteen cores across two sockets. The system ships with 1TB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory populated across thirty-two slots, leaving headroom toward the 8TB maximum capacity. It targets virtualization, AI inference, database and high-performance computing clusters that demand dense, scalable processing.

Thermal and power profile

Dual 1400W platinum-efficiency hot-swap power supplies deliver redundant power to the platform. The 2U chassis uses forced-air cooling designed for the sixteen 2.5-inch drive bays and full processor load. Fan speed scales with inlet temperature and workload intensity, so acoustic output rises under sustained compute or storage I/O. Redundant power and hot-swap capability allow supply replacement without service interruption.

Build and connectivity

The chassis provides sixteen hot-swap 2.5-inch bays supporting SAS, SATA and NVMe devices; four 960GB SATA SSDs are installed. A PERC H965i front RAID controller with 8GB non-volatile cache manages RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Networking is handled by a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1GbE OCP 3.0 adapter. iDRAC9 Datacenter enables full out-of-band remote management. Ready Rails and a front bezel are included for rack mounting.
