Dual-socket Xeon Gold 6426Y server

The Dell PowerEdge R760 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold 6426Y processors running at 2.5 GHz with a 4.1 GHz turbo frequency. Each CPU provides 16 cores for a total of 32 cores across the system. It ships with 768 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory installed across 24 modules, leaving eight of the 32 DIMM slots available for future expansion up to the platform maximum of 8 TB.

Verify rack space power and drive trays

Confirm that your rack can accommodate a 2U chassis and that the facility can supply two redundant 1400 W platinum power supplies. The front bay assembly holds sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays but only four drive trays are included, so additional trays will be required for any extra SAS, SATA or NVMe drives. Network connectivity uses an OCP 3.0 quad-port 1 GbE adapter, so check that your switch infrastructure matches that interface.

RAID controller iDRAC and expansion slots

The integrated PERC H965i RAID controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with 8 GB of non-volatile cache and handles both NVMe and traditional drives. Remote management is provided by iDRAC9 Datacenter with Lifecycle Controller for out-of-band administration. PCI Express Gen5 slots are available for additional accelerators or networking cards, while the included Ready Rails kit and front bezel simplify physical installation.
