Precision 7920 dual-Xeon rack server

The Precision 7920 is a 2U rack server built around two Intel Xeon Gold processors providing 24 cores and 48 threads. It ships with 256 GB of DDR4 ECC memory and a 4 x 4 TB SSD array configured in RAID 5 for fault-tolerant capacity. An NVIDIA RTX 4000 Ada Generation GPU with 20 GB GDDR6 ECC VRAM adds professional graphics and compute acceleration. The system targets studios and labs that need certified ISV performance for rendering, simulation and AI workloads in a rack footprint.

RAID 5 usable capacity and PCIe 3.0 ceiling

The four 2.5-inch SSDs deliver 16 TB raw before RAID; RAID 5 parity reduces usable space to roughly 12 TB while protecting against a single drive loss. Storage and GPU traffic share the platform’s two PCIe 3.0 expansion slots, so additional high-bandwidth cards cannot be added without displacing existing devices. The GPU provides one VGA and four DisplayPort outputs for multi-monitor setups, but no other video interfaces are present.

Rack-mount install with iDRAC9 remote access

The server includes a rack-mount kit and redundant air cooling for standard cabinet deployment. Initial configuration is handled through the integrated iDRAC9 Enterprise controller, which allows full remote power, health monitoring and OS deployment without a local console. Windows Server 2025 arrives pre-installed, so the first boot reaches the desktop quickly. Memory expansion uses 24 DDR4 DIMM slots; only DDR4 ECC modules are compatible, and mixing generations will prevent the system from posting.
