The Dynatron K666 is a 60 mm air cooler designed for Intel LGA 1156 processors including Core i3-530, i3-540, i5-650, i5-660, i5-661, i5-670, i5-750, i7-860, i7-870 and Xeon 3400 series. It suits repair work, retro builds or replacement of an original heatsink in compact systems where the mounting holes match. Buyers needing support for newer sockets or higher-TDP chips cannot use this cooler.
At the 0-20 % duty cycle the fan runs at 1600 RPM, moving 8.5 CFM at 13.8 dBA. At 50 % duty it reaches 2300 RPM with 12.2 CFM and 21.8 dBA. At full 100 % duty the speed hits 5000 RPM, delivering 26.45 CFM at 38.7 dBA. The 4-pin PWM connector allows the motherboard to adjust speed automatically based on CPU temperature.
The heatsink combines aluminium fins with a copper base and measures 90.7 x 85.0 x 64.0 mm, weighing 500 g. The fan mounts horizontally on top in a 60 x 60 x 25 mm frame using dual-ball bearings. Align the horizontal fan bracket with the socket retention holes, press the push-pins through the motherboard until each clicks, then attach the 4-pin PWM header. The step most often missed is confirming all four pins are fully locked before powering on.
The dual-ball bearing fan is the only moving part. At continuous 100 % duty it spins at 5000 RPM, so expect bearing wear after several years of heavy use; at lower duty cycles the interval extends proportionally.
At 100 % duty the fan delivers 26.45 CFM at 38.7 dBA. If the CPU heat load exceeds what that airflow can dissipate, the cooler hits its thermal ceiling and temperatures climb despite maximum fan speed.
