Seven USB 3.0 ports on one PCIe card

The ESTONE PCIE24A3C adds seven USB 3.0 ports to a desktop through a single PCI Express x1 slot. Three ports are Type-C and four are Type-A, giving mixed-device flexibility for peripherals such as keyboards, mice, external drives, webcams, printers, scanners and game controllers. The card fits x1, x4, x8 or x16 slots and works with PCIe 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0 motherboards. It targets builders who need many high-speed ports without occupying multiple expansion slots.

Replaces a single legacy port

If a system only offers one or two USB 3.0 connectors, this card multiplies connectivity in one step. The upgrade is worthwhile when several 5 Gbps devices must run simultaneously — for example, multiple external SSDs or capture devices — and the motherboard cannot supply enough native ports. Driver installation is required on Windows 7 and earlier; Windows 8, 10, 11, macOS 10.8.2 and later, and Linux distributions including Ubuntu and unRAID load the card natively.

Sustained throughput limited by single-lane PCIe 2.0

Each port supports up to 5 Gbps, but the x1 PCIe 2.0 link caps aggregate bandwidth at roughly 5 Gbps total, so simultaneous heavy transfers on several ports will share that ceiling. The card does not add auxiliary power connectors, so bus power is the only source for attached devices. Builders needing guaranteed full 5 Gbps on every port at once, or those with MSI boards that have shown compatibility issues, should look elsewhere.
