The Gigastone 500GB SATA III 2.5" SSD uses 3D NAND with SLC cache to deliver sequential read speeds up to 520 MB/s and write speeds up to 480 MB/s. It is designed as a direct replacement for traditional hard drives in desktops, laptops and ultra-slim notebooks. The 7mm form factor fits standard 2.5" drive bays.
Verify that your system has a free SATA III 6Gb/s port and a 2.5" drive bay that accepts a 7mm (0.28 inch) height drive. The drive draws a maximum of 4.0W active and 30 mW idle, so ensure your power supply can provide a SATA power connector. No additional heatsink is required or included.
Under sustained workloads the drive maintains random 4KB read performance of 95000 IOPS and write performance of 90000 IOPS. It is rated for 256 TBW and an MTBF of 1,500,000 hours, indicating consistent operation over long periods. Shock and vibration resistance further support reliability during continuous use.
