The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 packs a single Xeon E5-2640 v3 eight-core processor at 2.6GHz and 96GB of DDR4 ECC memory into a 1U rack chassis. It targets teams that need dense virtualisation or database capacity without occupying multiple rack units. The server ships with no operating system, ready for a hypervisor or bare-metal workload.

Memory at the ceiling

Installed memory sits at the 96GB maximum for this single-processor configuration, using 24 DIMM slots that run DDR4 up to 2400MT/s. The CPU provides 16 threads via hyper-threading, giving solid headroom for moderate VM density or in-memory workloads. Adding a second processor would unlock the remaining slots and raise the platform ceiling to 3TB, but the current build cannot exceed 96GB.

Eight-bay storage with redundant power

The front panel holds eight 2.5-inch SFF drive bays served by an H240ar controller that supports SAS at 12Gb/s and SATA at 6Gb/s across RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two hot-swap 500W power supplies provide redundancy for continuous uptime. No drives are included, so buyers must supply their own media. The Matrox G200 graphics with 16MB video memory handles basic console output only.
