Memory capacity and processor headroom

Installed memory reaches 512GB across DDR4 slots, with a platform maximum of 3TB for future growth. Two Silver 4114 CPUs provide 20 cores and 40 threads total at a 2.2GHz base frequency, giving ample headroom for dozens of virtual machines or heavy database instances. The configuration uses both available processor sockets, so no further CPU upgrades are possible. Workloads that scale beyond 40 threads or 3TB of RAM will outgrow this chassis.

Rack integration and expansion flexibility

Ten 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays with included trays support high-density local storage behind a P408i-a Smart Array RAID controller when configured. Four onboard 1GbE RJ45 ports handle management and workload traffic without extra network cards. Redundant hot-plug power supplies and iLO 5 remote management simplify ongoing operations in a 2U rack footprint. Builds requiring 3.5-inch drives, additional PCIe slots beyond the riser capacity, or higher-speed networking need a different platform.
