The Smart Array P440 controller with 4GB flash-backed write cache supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 across 16 small-form-factor drive bays. No operating system is included.

With 12 physical cores total, the server handles continuous database, virtualization and batch jobs without relying on burst frequencies. The C610 chipset and DDR4 memory running up to 2400MT/s keep data flowing to both processors during long compute windows. The P440 controller maintains consistent write performance thanks to its flash-backed cache, while redundant 500W power supplies ensure the platform stays online if one unit fails.

Thermal and acoustic profile in a rack

Dual redundant power supplies and system fans are designed for 2U density, moving air front-to-back under automatic fan-speed control. Under typical loads the acoustic output remains within data-centre norms, and power draw scales with the installed CPUs, memory and drives. The 16MB Matrox G200eH2 graphics subsystem adds negligible heat. No drives are installed, so storage thermals depend on the media the buyer adds.
