The silver aluminium chassis measures 5.4 in by 5.4 in by .6 in and draws power directly from the host port.

Driver-Free Setup With Port Constraints

The drive uses plug-and-play operation on Windows 98 through 11 and all macOS versions so no driver installation is required. A desktop must use a rear motherboard USB port and the drive must not be connected through a hub or extension cable. It cannot function with iPad, Chrome OS, tablets, smartphones, cars, TVs or projectors.

CD And DVD Only — No Blu-ray Support

The unit reads CD-ROM at 24x and DVD-ROM at 8x while writing CD-R at 24x, CD-RW at 16x and DVD±R at 8x. It does not support any Blu-ray disc format. Buyers who need Blu-ray playback or recording must choose a different drive.
