Dual-Port Gigabit Bypass Adapter

The LR-LINK LREC9712HT-BP is a PCI-Express network card with two shielded RJ-45 ports running at 10/100/1000Mbps. It uses a single Intel I350AM2 controller to provide non-bridged dual Gigabit Ethernet connectivity for servers and appliances. The card operates in Normal, Bypass or Disconnect modes to manage link behaviour. It is built for inline network devices that must maintain traffic flow during host failure.

PCI-Express x4 Host Interface

The adapter installs in a PCI-Express x4 slot and draws power from the bus without external connectors. Two copper RJ-45 ports connect directly to the network fabric, leaving no onboard ports unused. Bypass mode crosses the two ports electrically so traffic passes through even if the host is powered off or hung. Disconnect mode simulates a cable unplug so the upstream switch sees link down. The design suits 1U or 2U rack servers where an inline appliance sits between two network segments.

Sustained Inline Operation

Rated for continuous use between 0°C and 45°C at up to 95 per cent non-condensing humidity, the card keeps its bypass relay engaged without host software intervention. In Bypass mode the fail-safe path is purely passive, so throughput remains at line rate regardless of CPU load or OS state. The Intel controller handles frame forwarding in Normal mode with minimal host overhead. It is not suited for deployments requiring Wake-on-LAN or temperatures above 45°C.
