What this enclosure does

The Orico M.2 enclosure turns a single M.2 NVMe or SATA SSD into a USB 3.2 Gen 2 external drive. It accepts M-key, B+M-key NVMe modules and B+M-key SATA modules up to 4TB. The aluminium shell acts as a heatsink and fits in a pocket.

When the speed jump matters

NVMe drives run at 10Gbps with sequential reads and writes around 1000MB/s. SATA drives run at 5Gbps with speeds near 450MB/s. The upgrade is worth it if you move large video, photo or dataset files between a PC, laptop, console or Type-C phone and need NVMe bandwidth.

Check before ordering

Verify your SSD is an M.2 2280 module with the correct keying — NVMe M-key or B+M-key, or SATA B+M-key. The enclosure draws power from the USB-C port, so the host must supply enough current for the drive. No driver install is required on supported devices.
