Server Memory Upgrade

This 128GB DDR4 ECC Registered RDIMM is built for Lenovo ThinkAgile VX servers running Xeon SP Gen 2 processors. It targets administrators who need to expand memory capacity in VX5520, VX7320-N, VX7520, VX3520-G or VX3720 systems. The module is not suitable for standard desktop computers or workstations that require unbuffered or load-reduced DIMMs. Mixing it with those memory types will prevent the system from booting.

Registered ECC Architecture

The single decisive specification is the 8Rx4 Registered ECC design operating at 1.2V. This registration buffers address and command signals, allowing the memory controller to support the high density of a 128GB module. Systems that expect unbuffered or load-reduced memory cannot use this DIMM, and the motherboard must explicitly support Registered ECC DDR4 for the upgrade to function.

Sustained Workload Stability

Under continuous load the module maintains JEDEC-standard DDR4 2933 operation with CL21 latency. Error-correcting code detects and corrects single-bit errors in real time, preventing data corruption during long-running virtualisation or database tasks. The 1.2V voltage keeps power draw consistent across populated channels, and backward compatibility with 2133, 2400 and 2666MHz buses allows the DIMM to run stably if the platform downclocks for thermal or configuration reasons.
