Cisco UCS C4200 upgrade kit

This 256GB kit contains eight 32GB DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 modules built to the 288-pin RDIMM form factor. Each stick runs at 1.2V with CL22 latency and uses a 2Rx4 registered ECC design. The kit is validated for the Cisco UCS C4200 server platform and replaces Cisco part numbers 15-107238-01, UCSMRX32G2RW and UCSXMRX32G2RW.

Registered ECC for server workloads

The modules provide error-correcting code and registered buffering required by the Cisco UCS C4200 memory subsystem. They will not work in standard desktop boards that accept only unbuffered non-ECC DIMMs, and they cannot be mixed with load-reduced ECC memory. Buyers needing consumer desktop memory or a different capacity per module should select another product.

Sustained throughput under load

Registered ECC operation adds a clock cycle of buffering but maintains data integrity during continuous read-write cycles typical of virtualisation and database tasks. The 3200 MT/s rate and CL22 timing deliver predictable bandwidth across all eight channels when the server populates every slot. Thermal load stays within JEDEC limits because the modules ship without heat spreaders and rely on chassis airflow.
