Compact 2.0" IPS display HAT for Raspberry Pi
The Pimoroni PIM589 Display HAT Mini adds a 320x240 pixel IPS LCD screen to any Raspberry Pi with a 40 pin header. It includes four tactile buttons, an RGB LED, a Qw/ST connector and a Breakout Garden header. The board comes fully assembled with a pre-soldered socket header and two 10mm standoffs for a secure fit.
SPI interface limits refresh rate and pin usage
The screen communicates over SPI, which shares the bus with other peripherals and caps the maximum refresh speed. The 18-bit colour depth delivers 65K colours at roughly 220 PPI, but the serial link prevents the frame rates needed for smooth video playback. Projects that require high-speed animation or multiple SPI devices must plan for bandwidth contention.
320x240 resolution defines the use cases
The 3:2 aspect ratio and 320x240 pixel count suit status panels, retro game emulation, small photo frames and text-based dashboards. It cannot render modern desktop environments, high-detail graphics or video at native resolution. Buyers who need more pixels or a larger viewing area should choose a different display.

Spørgsmål om denne vare
Should I choose the 2.0" IPS LCD version or a different size for my Raspberry Pi Zero?
The 2.0" 320x240 IPS LCD at ~220 PPI gives crisp 65K-colour output and a 3:2 ratio that suits retro gaming and compact IoT panels on any 40-pin Pi, including Zero.
How does the 320x240 resolution look when the HAT is running on a real Raspberry Pi?
The 18-bit SPI-driven panel delivers vibrant colours and wide IPS viewing angles, making text, photos, GIFs and dashboard data clearly readable on the 2.0" screen.
What does the SPI interface cap at for this display HAT?
The screen connects via SPI, while the Qw/ST and Breakout Garden headers use I2C for adding sensors or breakouts without extra wiring.
