The Supermicro SuperChassis CSE-LA26AC12-R920LP1 is a 2U desktop server chassis finished in silver. It accommodates ATX, E-ATX and EE-ATX motherboards up to 13 inches by 13.68 inches. Twelve front hot-swap bays accept 3.5-inch drives tool-lessly or 2.5-inch drives with screws. A 920-watt redundant power supply and three 80-millimetre PWM fans are included.
This chassis replaces tower servers that lack hot-swap access or single-supply 2U units without failover capacity. The jump is worth it when uptime demands redundant power and tool-less drive servicing in a compact desktop form factor. Builders staying with fixed-drive towers or single-supply racks will not gain those capabilities.
Seven low-profile expansion slots limit add-in cards to half-height designs. The three included PWM fans manage airflow for the supported motherboard sizes and drive population. An optional rear 2.5-inch hot-swap kit adds capacity without consuming front bays. Systems requiring full-height cards or additional internal storage beyond the optional kit need a different enclosure.

The chassis accepts ATX 12" x 10", E-ATX 12" x 13" and EE-ATX 13" x 13.68" boards. With the optional rear 2.5" drive kit installed, maximum depth is 13".
3.5" drives slide in tool-less; 2.5" drives need screws. The backplane supports SAS3/SATA3, so each bay must be cabled to a compatible HBA or motherboard controller.
The three 80 mm PWM fans are the primary wear items. The 920 W redundant supply uses hot-swap modules that can be swapped individually. Drive trays and the SES3 backplane are serviceable if damaged.
