High-density 1U rack server

This 1U rackmount server system integrates two Intel Xeon E5-2667 v4 processors, each running at 3.2 GHz with eight cores. It is pre-populated with 512 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 16 modules. The unit includes a MegaRAID 9361-8i controller with 1 GB cache and supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Quad 10GBase-T ports and dual 750 W platinum power supplies complete the configuration.

Suited for virtualization hosts

The dual-socket design and large memory capacity make this server appropriate for virtualization clusters, database caching or high-performance compute tasks. The four hot-plug 3.5-inch drive bays accept SATA or SAS media. Buyers who need more than four drive bays, 2.5-inch bay density or GPU expansion slots should consider other platforms. The Matrox G200 graphics provide basic console output only.

Four 3.5-inch hot-plug bays with SAS 12 Gb/s RAID

Storage connectivity centres on the LSI MegaRAID 9361-8i controller delivering eight internal SAS 12 Gb/s lanes to the four front-accessible 3.5-inch trays. No drives are installed, so capacity and spindle type are chosen by the buyer. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 with battery-backed cache. This bay count and controller combination defines the storage ceiling for the chassis.
