Dense 1U dual-Xeon server

The Supermicro SYS-6018U-TR4T+ is a 1U rackmount system populated with two Intel Xeon E5-2697 v4 processors, each running 18 cores at 2.3 GHz with a 3.6 GHz turbo. It ships with 16 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz registered ECC memory installed across two 8 GB modules. A MegaRAID 9361-8i controller provides eight SAS 12 Gb/s ports with 1 GB cache and battery backup, driving four hot-plug 3.5-inch SATA/SAS drive bays. Quad 10GBase-T ports and a dedicated IPMI 2.0 LAN port handle data and out-of-band management.

Virtualisation hosts and compute clusters

This configuration suits teams that need high core density and 10 GbE connectivity in a single rack unit for virtualisation, HPC or cloud workloads. The 24 DIMM slots allow memory to grow well beyond the factory 16 GB, so memory-bound applications have headroom. Buyers who want more storage bays than the four 3.5-inch trays provide should look at a different chassis. Workloads that require GPU acceleration will not be served by the onboard Matrox G200 graphics.

Rack-ready compute node

The 1U form factor slides into standard racks without rails or a front bezel, which are not included. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies deliver redundant hot-swap power for continuous operation. The LGA 2011-3 sockets and DDR4 architecture define the upgrade path for processors and memory. Four 3.5-inch trays accept SATA or SAS drives, while the 9361-8i controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. IPMI 2.0 with KVM-over-LAN enables remote console access without a local monitor or keyboard.
