Single 3.5-inch SATA enclosure with USB 3.0
The Vantec NexStar HX NST-387S3-BK houses one 3.5-inch SATA I, II or III hard drive up to 16 TB. An aluminium and ABS plastic chassis connects to a host via USB 3.0 Type-B with a 39 inch cable. A bundled AC adapter powers the drive and the enclosure supports UASP on Windows 10 for improved throughput.
Aluminium casing and 60 mm fan for sustained use
The aluminium body acts as a heatsink while a 60 mm fan with an on/off/variable switch actively moves air through vents. This combination keeps drive temperatures lower during long transfers or backups compared with passively cooled enclosures. The unit can stand vertically with or without the included stand or lie horizontally with the fan facing up.
Check drive height and host USB port before ordering
The bay accepts a single standard-height 3.5-inch SATA drive; thicker enterprise models may not fit. Your computer must provide a USB Type-A port and, for UASP benefit, run Windows 10. macOS 10.6 or later is supported without UASP. No driver installation is required for basic operation on listed operating systems.
