A 64M buffer helps sustain steady burns across all supported formats. The unit writes BD-R and BD-R DL at 12X, BD-RE and BD-RE DL at 2X, DVD+R and DVD-R at 16X, DVD+RW at 8X, DVD-RW at 6X, DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL at 8X, CD-R at 40X and CD-RW at 24X. Very large BDXL jobs or continuous multi-disc runs may exceed the buffer headroom.

Embedded copy protection and control features

The key addition is on-disc copy protection for Blu-ray, which prevents casual ripping of distributed content.
