The 240-pin DIMMs operate at 1.5V with CL11 latency and a 1Rx4 organisation. Buyers running standard desktop boards cannot use this memory.

The kit directly substitutes the Supermicro part number MEMDR380LSL04ER16, letting you extend the service life of existing infrastructure or populate a new build at lower cost. The upgrade is worthwhile when your workloads demand ECC integrity and registered signalling, and when the platform explicitly lists these motherboard series in its qualified-vendor list. Systems that accept only unbuffered DIMMs will not benefit.

Simple DIMM installation

Installation follows standard 240-pin DIMM seating: align the notch, press evenly until the latches click, then verify population rules in the board manual. Common issues include mixing these registered modules with unbuffered memory, exceeding the per-channel rank limit, or populating slots in an unsupported order. No heat spreaders are fitted, so airflow across the modules must be adequate.
