SKU CH-BXHW-09477

Stand-alone in-circuit debugger and programmer for STM32 with JTAG up to 21 MHz and SWD up to 24 MHz over USB 2.0

  • Stand-alone probe for STM32 debugging and programming
  • USB 2.0 high-speed interface with Type-C power
  • JTAG communication up to 21 MHz
  • SWD and SWV support up to 24 MHz
  • Virtual COM port for host-to-target UART communication

Stand-Alone STM32 Debug Probe

The STLINK-V3MINIE is a compact in-circuit debugger and programmer built for STM32 32-bit microcontrollers. It connects to a host PC through a USB 2.0 high-speed Type-C port and draws power from the same connection. Onboard JTAG and SWD interfaces let engineers communicate with target devices, while a virtual COM port provides a UART bridge for serial interaction. The probe firmware is updatable via USB and supports drag-and-drop binary flashing.

Replaces Larger JTAG Adapters

This probe replaces bulky legacy JTAG pods when portability and USB-powered convenience matter most. The jump is worth it for field debugging, laptop-based development or crowded benches where a self-powered dongle fits where a wall-powered box cannot. It is not suited for teams that require multi-core trace, high-speed parallel trace ports or galvanic isolation between host and target.

Limited By USB 2.0 Bandwidth

JTAG communication tops out at 21 MHz and SWD or SWV at 24 MHz, so very high clock targets may hit the probe ceiling. The USB 2.0 link caps sustained throughput, making large flash images slower to program than on USB 3.0 or Ethernet probes. Buyers who need faster trace streaming, higher SWD clocks or simultaneous multi-target debugging should look elsewhere.

Kysymyksiä tästä tuotteesta

What physical connection does the STLINK-V3MINIE need to power and communicate with a host PC?

The probe is self-powered through a USB Type-C connector and uses a USB 2.0 high-speed interface for host communication.

Which step is commonly missed when getting the STLINK-V3MINIE ready to program an STM32 target?

Connect the onboard JTAG or SWD interface to the target MCU and ensure the probe firmware is updated via USB before starting a debug session.

What ongoing upkeep does the STLINK-V3MINIE require to stay compatible with new STM32 devices?

Probe firmware is updatable through the USB connection, so applying vendor firmware releases keeps the debugger current with new device support.
