Single-socket ATX server board

The ASRock Rack SPC621D8 is an ATX motherboard built for a single LGA 4189 processor from the 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable family. Eight DDR4 3200 slots support RDIMM, LRDIMM and Intel Optane Persistent Memory in a 1DPC layout. The Intel C621A chipset provides thirteen SATA 6.0Gb/s ports, two M.2 sockets and seven PCIe 4.0 expansion slots. An Aspeed AST2500 handles video and IPMI remote management. Rear I/O includes D-Sub, dual 1GbE LAN and four USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports.

Seven PCIe 4.0 slots with auto-switching topology

Four slots are wired for PCIe 4.0 x16 and three for PCIe 4.0 x8. Slots 7, 5 and 3 automatically drop to x8 when the adjacent x8 slots 6, 4 or 2 are populated, so the final lane allocation depends on which add-in cards are installed. This flexibility lets the board serve GPU compute, storage arrays or networking workloads within the same ATX footprint.
