Ultra-Slim Portable DVD Writer
The ASUS ZenDrive U9M is an external optical drive measuring 13 mm thin. It connects through USB 2.0 and includes both USB Type-A and Type-C cables for broad system compatibility. The tray-load unit reads and writes CD and DVD media and supports M-DISC for archival storage. It draws power directly from the USB port so no external adapter is required.
Sustained Write Behaviour
Maximum write speeds reach 8X for DVD+R and DVD-R and 24X for CD-R. DVD+RW and DVD-RW rewrite at 8X and 6X respectively while dual-layer media records at 6X. Read access times are 160 ms for DVD and 140 ms for CD. The USB 2.0 interface caps sustained throughput below peak optical rates during long sessions.
