The PowerEdge R640 is a 1U rack server built for dense scale-out data centre computing. It ships with two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors, each running at 2.1 GHz with 24 cores and a 3.7 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 128 GB of DDR4 2666 MHz registered ECC memory across eight 16 GB modules. This configuration targets virtualisation clusters, database nodes and high-performance workloads that demand maximum core count in minimal rack space.

Enterprise Storage And Network Foundation

Eight 2.5-inch drive bays are populated with 1.2 TB 10K SAS hard drives connected to a Dell PERC H730P 2 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through.
