Dual Xeon E5-2660 v4 14-core processors

This 2U rack server ships with two Intel Xeon E5-2660 v4 processors running at 2.0 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency. Fourteen cores per CPU give 28 threads for parallel workloads such as virtualisation, database serving or high-performance computing nodes. The system targets midsize and large enterprises that need dense compute in a standard rack footprint.

24 DDR4 slots and eight 2.5-inch SAS bays

Sixty-four gigabytes of registered ECC DDR4-2400 memory occupy four of the 24 DIMM slots, leaving room to scale toward the 1.5 TB maximum. The PERC H730 controller with 1 GB cache manages eight 300 GB 10K SAS drives in RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 or 60. Dual 750 W platinum power supplies and an Intel X520/I350 quad-port network card with two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ links are installed. iDRAC 8 Enterprise provides remote management. Rails and a front bezel are included.

Sustained throughput with redundant power

Dual hot-swap power supplies maintain uptime during a module failure while the 2U chassis delivers airflow tuned for continuous 285 W processor loads. The H730 battery-backed cache preserves write performance during extended I/O bursts. Quad 10 Gb and 1 Gb network ports keep storage and migration traffic moving without saturation. iDRAC 8 Enterprise monitors thermal and power telemetry around the clock.
