The Dell PowerEdge R740xd packs two Intel Xeon Platinum 8160 processors running at 2.1 GHz with 24 cores each into a 2U rack chassis. It ships with 768 GB of DDR4 registered ECC memory across 24 slots. Twenty-four 2.5-inch bays hold 300 GB 10K SAS drives served by a PERC H730P 2 GB controller supporting RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50, 60 and pass-through modes. A quad-port network daughter card adds two 1 GbE and two 10 Gb SFP+ connections.
