Enterprise 2U rack server for heavy virtualization

The Dell PowerEdge R760 delivers dual Intel Xeon Platinum 8468 processors, each with 48 cores running at 2.1 GHz and a 3.8 GHz turbo frequency. With 256 GB of DDR5-4800 ECC registered memory installed across 32 slots, the platform targets VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, Proxmox VE, AI training, private cloud and high-performance computing clusters. Maximum supported memory reaches 8 TB for the largest datasets.

PERC H965i RAID controller

The bundled Dell PERC H965i front RAID controller adds 8 GB of non-volatile cache and supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60 for both NVMe and traditional SAS or SATA drives. Four 2.5-inch hot-swap trays are included, allowing immediate population of the 16-bay chassis without extra cabling. iDRAC 9 Datacenter provides full out-of-band lifecycle management and remote console access.

PCIe Gen5 and OCP 3.0 define expansion

The server uses PCI Express Gen5 slots for add-in cards, so any accelerator or storage adapter must conform to that generation to achieve full bandwidth. Network connectivity is supplied by a Broadcom 5720 quad-port 1 GbE OCP 3.0 card, restricting onboard Ethernet to 1 GbE per port unless an additional OCP 3.0 module is installed. Dual 1400 W platinum hot-swap power supplies provide redundancy but cap total draw at their rated output.
