Tower Server for Virtualisation and Storage

The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that can be converted for rack mounting. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4214 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo and 12 cores. Thirty-two gigabytes of DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory are installed across four modules, leaving twelve slots open for expansion up to one terabyte.

Drive Capacity and Expansion Slots

Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap bays accept SAS, SATA and SSD drives, while the HBA330 controller provides 12 Gb/s connectivity without RAID overhead. Four drive trays are included, so twelve bays remain empty for future growth. Integrated dual-port Gigabit Ethernet and multiple PCI Express slots free up I/O for additional networking, GPU or storage cards.

Remote Management and Redundant Power

iDRAC 9 Express delivers out-of-band monitoring, firmware updates and virtual console access without an operating system. Two 750 watt platinum hot-plug power supplies share the load and allow one unit to be swapped while the server stays online. The front bezel and rack rails are not included, so buyers planning rack deployment must source a conversion kit separately.
