Dual-processor 5U server for virtualization
The Dell PowerEdge T440 is a 5U tower server that can be converted to rack mount using an optional kit. It ships with two Intel Xeon Silver 4210 processors, each running at 2.2 GHz with a 3.2 GHz turbo frequency and ten cores. The platform targets virtualization, database hosting, file storage and backup workloads.
Sustained throughput from dual CPUs and ECC memory
With both sockets populated the system delivers twenty physical cores and supports DDR4-2400 ECC registered memory up to 1 TB across sixteen slots. The current 16 GB configuration leaves ample headroom for memory expansion while the dual processors maintain clock speeds during extended compute tasks such as hypervisor scheduling or database transactions.
Hot-swap bays and redundant platinum power
Sixteen 2.5-inch hot-swap drive bays accept SAS and SATA devices and are managed by a PERC H330 12 Gb/s controller with four 1.92 TB enterprise SSDs installed. Dual 750 W platinum-efficiency power supplies provide hot-plug redundancy and the integrated iDRAC 9 Express enables remote management without a dedicated console.
