Xeon W-2135 workstation

The Dell Precision 5820 Tower is built around an Intel Xeon W-2135 processor with six cores running at 3.7 GHz and a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 128 GB of DDR4 2666 registered ECC memory in four 32 GB modules. A 1 TB PCIe NVMe solid-state drive provides the primary storage. The NVIDIA Quadro P4000 graphics card adds 8 GB of GDDR5 memory and four DisplayPort outputs. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the system.

DDR4 2666 memory ceiling

Memory operates at DDR4 2666 across eight total slots, with the current configuration occupying four of them. The platform maximum is 256 GB, so the installed 128 GB leaves four open slots for future expansion. Registered ECC modules are required for stability in this workstation class. Mixing unbuffered or non-ECC memory is not supported by the memory controller.

Storage and GPU headroom

The single 1 TB NVMe drive handles operating system, applications and active project files, but capacity will fill quickly with large datasets or media libraries. Additional internal drives would be needed for bulk storage. The Quadro P4000 drives up to four displays through its DisplayPort connectors and suits professional 3D and CAD workloads within its 8 GB frame buffer. More complex scenes or GPU compute tasks will exceed the available video memory.
