Eight 146 GB 15K SAS drives connect through the Smart HBA H240 controller supporting RAID 0, 1 and 5. Redundant hot-swap 550 W power supplies maintain uptime in a 1U form factor.

Sustained throughput with 15K spindles

Eight 15 000 RPM SAS drives deliver consistent random I/O under continuous workloads without the thermal throttling seen in slower spindles. The H240 controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA paths to keep queues full during extended database or virtualisation runs. Dual processors up to 36 total cores can be added for heavier parallel tasks.

Slide-in rails and tool-less drive trays

The 1U chassis mounts on standard rack rails and the eight SFF bays accept tool-less carriers included with the drives. Memory populates eight slots per CPU so a second processor unlocks the remaining eight slots. No operating system ships with the unit so plan for a separate installation media and driver bundle.
