The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 is a 1U rack server built for compute-dense environments. A single Intel Xeon E5-2670 v3 twelve-core processor running at 2.3 GHz delivers 24 threads for virtualisation and database workloads. Redundant hot-swap 500 W power supplies keep the platform running through a module failure. The 1U form factor suits space-constrained racks.

Memory ceiling at 16 GB

Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 ECC registered memory are installed across 24 DIMM slots, twelve per processor socket. The chipset supports up to 3 TB when both sockets are populated, but the current single-processor configuration limits usable capacity to the installed 16 GB. Memory speed reaches 2400 MT/s depending on the processor capability. Buyers needing larger in-memory datasets must add a second processor and additional modules.

Two 4 TB SAS drives on H240ar

Two HP 4 TB 7.2K 3.5-inch SAS drives occupy two of the four LFF bays and connect to the Smart HBA H240ar controller. The controller provides 12 Gb SAS and 6 Gb SATA links with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, 50 and 60. Two empty bays remain for capacity expansion. No operating system is included, so the installer provides the hypervisor or OS. The Matrox G200 graphics handles basic console output only.
