The HP ProLiant DL360 Gen9 fits eight small-form-factor drives and a single Xeon E5-2640 v3 processor into a 1U chassis. Sixty-four gigabytes of DDR4 ECC memory and the H240ar controller provide a balanced platform for hypervisor hosts, database nodes or application servers that need internal storage density.

Sustained throughput with 15 K SAS spindles

Two 146 GB 15 K SAS drives feed the H240ar at 6 Gb/s per port, while the controller supports 12 Gb/s SAS and 6 Gb/s SATA lanes for future expansion. Redundant 500 W hot-swap power supplies keep the array and CPU online during a module failure, so rebuilds and heavy I/O continue without interruption.

ECC memory ceiling and bay layout

The installed 64 GB already reaches the single-processor maximum, so any memory growth requires a second CPU and additional DIMMs across the 24 slots. Eight front-access 2.5-inch bays use the included trays; an optional universal media bay or two extra SFF bays can replace the optical slot if more local capacity is needed.
