Installation and common issues

The unit arrives with BIOS and firmware updated to the latest stable version, plus full diagnostics and burn-in testing completed. Mounting rails are available on request but not included by default. The most frequent oversight is forgetting to order the required SAS or SATA drives and any additional cabling for the eight-bay backplane.

Pre-order compatibility checks

Verify that your rack provides at least 36 inches of depth and 24 inches of width to accommodate the 36 x 24 x 10 inch chassis and its 40-pound weight. Confirm the P440 SAS controller matches your planned drive type, as the backplane uses SATA interfaces. Ensure your network infrastructure can use the installed Intel I350 and X540 adapters, which provide two 10GbE and two 1GbE ports. Check maximum memory headroom of 1536GB if future expansion is anticipated.
