This IBM HUSMM1640ASS200 is a 400GB 2.5-inch enterprise solid-state drive built for 12Gbps SAS infrastructure. It ships new with a Storwize V5030 caddy for direct installation in compatible IBM storage arrays.
12Gbps SAS interface limit
The drive connects through a 12Gbps SAS link, so throughput cannot exceed that bus speed. Systems limited to 6Gbps SAS will operate at the lower rate, and non-SAS backplanes cannot accept the drive at all.
400GB capacity headroom
At 400GB the drive suits read-intensive workloads such as boot volumes, caching tiers or metadata storage. Write-heavy databases or large sequential archives will exhaust the available space quickly, requiring additional drives.
