Universal SBC Heatsink
The Khadas VIMs heatsink fits every VIM single-board computer from the original VIM1 through the VIM4 and the Edge-V platform. M2x4 mounting holes and four dedicated thermal pads cover each board revision so one cooler serves an entire development fleet.
16 Fin Cooling Limit
Sixteen fins measuring 81.0 x 49.1 x 8.9 mm dissipate heat within the original board outline. The design excludes the 3004 cooling fan and VIM2 v1.2 or earlier boards, so builders using those parts must stay with the stock cooler.
Capacity and Headroom
A 5.0 W/mK silicone pad moves heat from the SoC into the 6063 aluminium body while the 3705 fan mount adds forced-air headroom for sustained loads. Without the fan the fin array handles typical edge workloads; prolonged peak compute will eventually saturate the passive path.

Which thermal pad should I use for my specific VIM or Edge board?
Match the pad colour to your board: grey 20×20×1.3 mm for VIM3, VIM3L, VIM4; blue 20×20×1.0 mm for VIM1, VIM1S, VIM2 v1.4+; off-white 22×22×0.7 mm for Edge2, Edge-V; pink 22×22×0.4 mm for Edge.
