Capacity and purpose

This kit provides 256GB of DDR5 memory arranged as eight 32GB registered DIMMs for the Cisco UCS X410c M7 compute node. It targets IT teams expanding capacity in mission-critical server deployments where error correction and registered buffering are required. Buyers needing unbuffered or non-ECC modules for desktop platforms cannot use this kit.

Build and connectors

Each module is a 288-pin RDIMM operating at 1.1V with a CL40 latency and 1Rx4 organisation. The registered design adds a buffer that reduces electrical load on the server memory controller, supporting stable operation in high-density configurations. No heat spreaders are fitted, so airflow through the chassis must be sufficient for bare modules.

Thermals and power

Running at the standard DDR5 4800 speed and 1.10V, the modules draw minimal power per DIMM while delivering PC5-38400 bandwidth. Registered buffering and ECC logic add negligible thermal load compared with unbuffered equivalents. In a properly ventilated Cisco UCS X410c M7 chassis the kit operates within normal server temperature and acoustic envelopes.
