16-Channel 4K PoE Surveillance Kit

The Reolink RLK16-840V16-A bundles sixteen RLC-840A IP cameras with a sixteen-channel NVR that comes with a pre-installed 4 TB hard drive. Person, vehicle and animal detection reduces unwanted alerts while a built-in microphone adds audio capture. The kit includes eighteen-metre Cat5 cables for every camera and supports plug-and-play setup via the NVR PoE ports. It suits homes or businesses needing continuous 4K coverage across multiple zones.

Sustained 24/7 Recording Behaviour

The system is designed for round-the-clock continuous recording at up to 25 frames per second per channel. H.265 compression reduces file size and bandwidth demand compared with older codecs, helping the 4 TB drive retain footage longer before overwriting. Dual-stream operation lets the main stream run at 25 fps while a sub-stream at 10 fps handles remote preview, keeping the NVR responsive during extended write cycles.

Storage Expansion and Interface Limits

The NVR provides two internal SATA ports; one is occupied by the factory 4 TB drive and the second accepts an additional drive up to 6 TB. ONVIF support allows integration with compatible third-party cameras, although the manufacturer notes that non-Reolink cameras may lose some functions. Video output is limited to one VGA and one HDMI port, both capable of 3840 x 2160 resolution at 25 fps.
