SATA M.2 NGFF to 2.5" adapter for B-key SSDs

This adapter converts a SATA-based M.2 NGFF SSD with B-key or B+M-key edge connectors into a standard 2.5-inch SATA drive. It accepts full-length modules in 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280 sizes. The card connects to a host SATA port running at 1.5, 3.0 or 6.0 Gbps. It is designed for systems with a 2.5-inch drive bay and a SATA interface.

Passive conversion with no added software

The bundle contains only the adapter board; no drivers, firmware utilities or mounting screws are included. The card simply reroutes the SATA signal pins from the M.2 slot to the 2.5-inch connector. Performance and power characteristics remain those of the installed SSD. No configuration is required beyond physical installation.

Verify your SSD uses the SATA protocol

This adapter will not work with PCIe-based M-key or M+B-key NVME SSDs such as the Samsung 950, 960 or 961 series. Confirm that your M.2 drive is labelled as SATA and has a B-key or B+M-key notch before ordering. Also ensure your motherboard or laptop provides a standard 2.5-inch SATA power and data connection.
