The KingSpec XF-2TB 2230 is a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe solid-state drive built in the M.2 2230 form factor. Its 2 TB capacity and integrated heatsink target Steam Deck, ROG Ally, Surface and similar space-constrained devices that need fast internal storage without a full-length slot.
The drive idles at 0.76 W and draws up to 5.3 W under load, limiting thermal output inside tight chassis. The bundled heatsink spreads heat across the controller and NAND, keeping sustained sequential reads of 4800 MBps and writes of 4200 MBps stable without throttling or audible fan noise.
TRIM, garbage collection, over-provisioning, host memory buffer mode and ECC operate automatically to maintain write performance and protect data across the 1200 TBW rating. The controller manages wear levelling and error correction without user intervention, supporting the quoted 1,000,000-hour MTBF.
