This OWC module delivers 128GB of DDR4 ECC load-reduced memory in a single 288-pin DIMM rated at 2933 MT/s with CL21 latency and 1.2V operation. It is built specifically for the HP ProLiant XL270d Gen10 and replaces a long list of HP part numbers. The 8Rx4 organisation and ECC capability target enterprise servers and workstations that require maximum capacity per slot and data integrity. It will not work in standard desktop computers and cannot be mixed with unbuffered or registered ECC DIMMs.
Load-reduced buffering reduces electrical loading on the memory bus, allowing the memory controller to maintain the rated 2933 MT/s speed across all populated slots even under continuous heavy workloads. ECC circuitry corrects single-bit errors on the fly, preventing data corruption during long-running compute jobs or virtualisation tasks. Backward compatibility with 2133, 2400 and 2666 MT/s platforms lets the module clock down automatically when installed in older generations without losing stability.
The module operates at the standard DDR4 1.2V, keeping power draw low for a 128GB LRDIMM and reducing heat output inside dense server chassis. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow from the system fans passes directly over the DRAM packages for efficient cooling. Silent solid-state operation adds no acoustic noise, and the reduced electrical load per rank helps the platform stay within its thermal envelope during extended uptime.
