This OWC kit provides 32GB of DDR3L 1600 memory across four 8GB registered DIMMs. It is built for Supermicro SuperServer 4047R, 4048B, 5017GR, 5017R and 5027R systems that require ECC registered modules. The 1Rx4 organisation and CL11 timing match the original Supermicro part numbers. Desktop or unbuffered platforms cannot use this memory.
Each module runs at 1.35V, reducing power draw compared to standard DDR3 in always-on server roles. The registered buffer lightens electrical load on the memory controller, helping stability in multi-DIMM configurations. No heat spreader is fitted, so airflow through the chassis handles the modest thermal output. Acoustic impact is negligible in typical rack environments.
Under continuous workloads the registered design maintains signal integrity across all four slots without timing degradation. ECC correction operates transparently during extended compute or storage tasks. The kit replaces Supermicro MEMDR380LHL07ER16, MEMDR380LSL10ER16, MEMDR380LSL14ER16 and MEMDR380LSV04ER16 modules. It is not suitable for systems that only accept unbuffered DIMMs.
